Considering the total area of about 400 X 40 metres with planting circles spread along the length.
The vegetation occurs in several distinct patterns

Black wattles with very little growth underneath
Sword type grass clumps
Ignoring these first two types, the places to work seem to be
Groups of trees (blackwood) with soft ferns underneath could be area suitable to hide some shade tolerant species with protective nettles etc.
Single blackwood trees mostly clear around    These areas would seem to suit the mass planting of hiding species and inclusion of lilly pilly etc
Grass areas    Mass planting of protective species then wattles hidden
Nettles and Kangaroo apple in clumps often around fallen tree or blackberry canes - dead or alive - already prepared for palatable species to be interplanted. Nettle clumps over about 40%, nettle areas about 20%.
