| The Satin bower birds arrive in Autumn, When the flocks
descend they seem to quickly clean up any soft green foliage - this
makes them the bane of many gardeners lives. The male has intense blue
plumage and eye. These photos were taken in late May when the blue male was
in the company of about 20 green females and/ or males in immature plumage. |

As I was walking in the gully under the Lilly Pilly canopy one afternoon
in mid June the bower birds were feeing in the canopy so there was a gentle hail
of berries around me leaving the ground speckled with semi ripe fruit.
